On this day in 1945, the Old Guard “Cockades” took on the 78th Infantry Division “Lightning Bolts” in Darmstadt, Germany as part of the Seventh Army Football League in post-World War II occupied Germany. The “Cockades” came away with a victory, outscoring the 78th Infantry Division, 35-0. NOLI ME TANGERE!
